I left a note for a girl at the laundromat the other night. That was a first. She had 30 minutes left on her dryer when I finished folding my clothes, and I wasn’t about to wait like a creep. I wrote up a message and left my MobileMe email address because I couldn’t have my full name attached to a missed connections note left in a laundromat, obviously. I stuck it right next to her dryer, she couldn’t miss it.
The thing is, by the time I got home I realized that my MobileMe account expired last week. I sent a test message from Gmail, and it bounced. At this point I could either pay Apple $100 to reactivate my address, pay $40 on eBay for a sketchy account and hope a stranger in Ukraine sends me the MobileMe code immediately, or let her go. Who leaves a note for a girl in a laundromat and lets her go? 3 hours and $40 later, I was without a code. Feeling hopeless, I went to bed. Come morning, my code was waiting for me, but…was it too late?
It’s three days later, and I have no reply. Did she write me that night? Did she laugh and throw my note away? I will never know.
This guy is some kind of wonderful.
